5 Situations That Affect Your Brand Image

Brand image is also defined by your actions. Here are five situations your business may have already faced.

A weak online presence

This is risky in today’s world. The web is the primary source of information, and customers need to access your business information in just a couple of clicks. If finding your services is difficult, it can negatively impact your image and your ability to attract new clients.

No online presence? Start with a social media platform and build a community around your brand.

Little or no brand awareness

It can be difficult for your target audience to find you. Work on growing your network to encourage word of mouth, and leverage existing client relationships to gather testimonials and online reviews.

New to the market? Keep proving yourself and don’t give up. Brand awareness takes time to build.

Low customer engagement

If you’re unable to retain your customers, they may turn to your competitors. Make sure your customer service is flawless and ask clients about their expectations. Check in along the way to ensure they’re still satisfied, so you can adjust course if needed.

Your clients aren’t coming back? What can you improve in your process to reduce friction as much as possible? Ask them.

Insufficient product or service quality

Providing low-quality products or services creates a disconnect with customer expectations. If your brand appears premium but you deliver a low-end product, your credibility will take a hit. Be honest about what you’re offering.

Have you broken a client’s trust? Apologize. It’s much harder for a client to speak poorly of you if you take responsibility for your mistakes—and there’s always a way to find solutions.

A lack of adaptability

If you don’t remain agile in the face of change, you risk becoming outdated or irrelevant. Stay aware of trends and advancements in your industry to see how they can be applied to your business when relevant.

Falling behind? Avoid the status quo and seek progress. Stay informed and take the necessary steps to reinvent yourself.

If you recognize yourself in any of these points, know that it may not be too late to set things right.
